If you’re looking for the best ski rental in Sommand, Les Roches 1500 has become an unmissable reference. In addition to offering a simple, fast rental service located directly at the main Sommand parking lot, the team is unveiling this winter a fully renewed equipment range, premium novelties, and several new categories to meet every level of skiing.
Between quality, innovation, and an exclusive partnership with the ESF of Sommand, discover everything that makes Les Roches 1500 the most complete and high-performing rental point in the Praz de Lys – Sommand ski area.
Ski rental designed for Sommand visitors
The rental service at Les Roches 1500 is designed above all for skiers enjoying the Sommand ski area:
- day visitors,
- holidaymakers,
- families enrolled with the ESF,
- regular skiers with a seasonal rental (with the option to buy the equipment at the end of winter).
Even though some borrow the equipment to ski elsewhere, this remains marginal: everything is optimized to offer the best experience in Sommand, without detour or wasted time.
Why rent in Sommand? An ideal ski area for preserving equipment
The Sommand ski area has a rare feature: its slopes lie mostly on alpine pastures — grass — and very little on rocky terrain.
As a result:
- skis wear out much less,
- the equipment stays in excellent condition all season,
- the skiing is smooth and enjoyable,
- we can offer new or nearly-new skis at a very competitive price.
It’s one of the French ski areas where skis suffer the least, and it makes all the difference.
A premium equipment range, renewed and diversified
To meet the expectations of every skier, Les Roches 1500 has invested in an exceptional upgrade of its equipment. This winter marks a turning point, with a wider, more technical, and more premium range.
Alpine skis: Salomon + Atomic, with a new Premium range
Les Roches 1500 is strengthening its alpine ski range this year with two flagship brands:
✔ Salomon: the versatile reference
✔ Atomic: the novelty that defines the winter
We’ve added brand-new Atomic skis with a Premium range featuring a red-and-white “race” design.
These high-end, eye-catching, and high-performing skis allow us to offer an accessible Premium category, ideal for those who want modern, striking equipment without blowing their budget.
New: a Freeride category
To attract a younger, more technical, and more dynamic clientele, Les Roches 1500 is creating a new Freeride category:
- agile skis,
- suited to powder snow,
- perfect for progressing off the groomed slopes.
A real plus for diversifying the experience and exploring the ski area differently.
Touring skis: a premium Atomic selection
Ski touring is gaining popularity, and the range is expanding with:
- the latest-generation Atomic skis,
- technical, lightweight, high-performing equipment,
- ideal for outings on Sommand’s routes.
Snowboards: 100% new equipment with the BOA system
The snowboard range is expanding with:
- adult and children’s boards,
- new equipment,
- boots fitted with the BOA system, known for its precision, simplicity, and comfort.
